As women, we tend to find ourselves getting lost in a rut sometimes. Daily tasks can consume our schedules making it is easy to lose who we are. This is why we love this month’s RHWAD Spotlight Lady Randa El Zein. Randa has been helping women in Abu Dhabi realise their true potential to create the lives they want through her business Be You International. She has been inspiring women to find their passion. I think we all can use a little of this in our lives.
Describe yourself in three words:
Powered by Passion!
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
Transforming people through love and empowering women to add more quality of life to their lives.
Do you have children and have they influenced your career?
I don’t have kids of my own, but I raised 2 siblings who were 18 and 20 years younger. So, I’ve done it all minus pregnancy and childbirth and I’m so very proud of who they’ve become.
How do you stay connected through social media?
Facebook and Instagram.
What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
I was an interior designer who went into real estate who is now a life coach and there’s absolutely nothing else I’d rather be doing. Be You International is it!
How do you maintain a work/life balance?
Do what you love and love what you do. It’s everybody’s dream. I am living my dream. I love what I do and seriously do not feel it is work. Being a life coach is my life. I ask friends when they come to me for advice if they want me to talk to them as a friend or as a coach…. no matter the answer, I say ‘ok, I’ll coach you anyway’ and they love it!
What websites do you visit every day?
Ted.com So many brilliant and inspiring people out there.
Who is your hero and how have they helped make you who you are today?
Ouff, there’s many. Oprah is one of them. I was only 14 when I knew she builds orphanages in Africa and that has ever since, inspired me to ‘one day’ do the same. This is why I am building my coaching business with emphasis on making it a feel-good humanitarian organisation.
What are your top 3 favorite people/places/things in Abu Dhabi?
My cat Fluffy, she always reminds me that there’s more than enough time to pet the cat. My brother’s dog, Skipper, who teaches me that Everything Is Exciting. And my office, I have a beautiful view, and it’s where I create magic.
What is your goal for retirement?
Retirement… who wants to retire?!?
Do you have any advice for women who would like to start their own company Abu Dhabi?
Just make sure that you are absolutely passionate about what you want to start cause that’s the only thing that will keep you on the right path when the tough gets going… and the tough will get going. It’s part of life. Passion is my driver. That’s how you should approach anything you do in life.
How did you come up with your idea to start your company?
It came to me in a dream while I was at a women’s retreat in Canada. I woke up knowing without a shadow of doubt that that was my calling… my life mission.
What challenges as a business owner have you had to overcome and how?
Life coaching is a relatively new industry in Abu Dhabi. So I feel the added responsibility to raise awareness and explain what coaching is and how a life coach can help transform your life.
What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
Exactly what I’m doing now… and I know failure is not an option already!
