Whether you are native to Abu Dhabi or a resident – we all have our personal reasons for living in the UAE. Now there is a new community project aimed at creating more dialogue between the different cultures and background of Abu Dhabi’s residents. Inspired by “Humans Of New York“, this project “Humans of Abu Dhabi” celebrates the diversity within our city and the people who make it what it is.
This project hopes to inspire and educate by sharing various stories. It doesn’t matter where you come from, what your economic status is – we are all here and have the same basic needs. The photos may inspire you, encourage you or invoke gratitude. It is a beautiful project and will be fun to watch it all unfold. If you haven’t done so already, be sure to like the Humans of Abu Dhabi Facebook page.
If you are interested in participating in this project by sharing your story, please email your photo with a few sentences about you, Abu Dhabi, life events or anything you want to share to publishing@independent.ae. What a fabulous way to highlight your time in the UAE!
I would be interested in participating, what does it involve. I love reading the humans of new york so this is interesting for me.
Send a photo of yourself, along with a few sentences about you or why you love Abu Dhabi or anything really that fits in with the “Humans of Abu Dhabi” theme. Email it to publisher@independent.ae. The photos will be approved and uploaded onto the Facebook page. I will keep an eye out for your picture.
I have been following it on facebook. It’s a wonderful community oriented project!
Will send my submission in the coming days.
Does it have to be our own photo that we submit? Or can we take pictures of those around us as well? If so, how should we go about it? I am deeply interested in taking part in this project and devoting my time effectively. Please update me soon. Thank you!
I would say to send in your submission to ( Humans of Abu Dhabi ) (click on name) and see what they think.
Hi K,
Apologies for the late reply, only just seen your question.
You can submit any photographs that you might have to publishing@independent.ae and we will review/upload them onto the page.
Thanks,
HOAD
